The Strategic Planning Program provides a framework to support members of an organization or team in developing a practical, strategically oriented planning process. The program focuses on the following objectives:

• Forecast challenges and opportunities facing the organization within a specific time frame
• Determine a strategic plan that will best enable the organization to respond to future challenges and opportunities
• Establish the priority objectives to facilitate implementation of the strategic plan
• Define specific plans of action for making progress toward strategic plan implementation
• Develop a strategy for encouraging organizational support for the long-range plan at every level of the organization
• Construct and implement procedures for monitoring the plan while in progress
